Zoho Writer Talks to DocuSign, and Zoho Creator Finally Gets Real Error Handling

We checked release notes and community feeds across the full Zoho One roster (Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Service, BI, Projects, Developer tools, and Security) and found six updates worth your attention this week: a document signing handoff in Zoho Writer, a scripting change in Zoho Creator that changes how automation failures show up, and a batch of smaller upgrades across Forms, Assist, Lens, and Sprints.
Zoho Writer: Send for Signature Without Leaving the Document

Zoho Writer now integrates natively with DocuSign. You can configure signer fields, roles, and signing order directly inside a Writer Merge, Fillable, or Sign template, send it to DocuSign for signature, and track the status in Writer’s Submission Log, no exporting to a separate tool.
Why it matters: Not every client we work with is standardized on Zoho Sign. If a client’s legal, HR, or sales team has DocuSign baked into their process (offer letters, sales contracts, vendor agreements), this closes the gap without forcing a signing tool migration just to use Writer templates. No deadline attached; this is an optional feature to turn on when it’s useful.
Zoho Creator: Deluge Scripts Can Now Fail Loudly, On Purpose

Deluge, the scripting language behind Creator, Flow, and CRM automations, now supports a throw statement. Scripts can raise a custom exception with a message and data payload and route it to a matching catch block, instead of the failure disappearing silently into a log no one checks.
Why it matters: We build custom Deluge driven workflows into nearly every Creator implementation we deliver. Real error handling means a broken automation can now surface a clear, actionable message instead of just quietly not running, worth considering for retrofitting critical client scripts where a silent failure would actually hurt someone. No deadline attached.

Zoho Forms: A Bigger Toolkit for Public Facing Forms

Zoho Forms added a Noun Project icon library, 13 new CAPTCHA challenge types, a Welcome page for Standard Forms (previously limited to Card Forms), multi-geofence location validation across up to 10 zones, and CSV import for forms and entries.
Why it matters: The Welcome page and geofencing upgrades are useful for any client running field intake or event registration forms; CSV import cuts down on manual re-entry when migrating forms from another tool.
Zoho Assist: Self-Service Intake and Automatic Session Summaries
Published August 2026, version 16.5
Zoho Assist added Web Forms for self-service ticket intake routed by department, and Session Highlight, which auto-generates a summary of each remote session, filterable by technician, category, or tag.
Why it matters: Session Highlight is a quick win for QA and reporting on support engagements; Web Forms reduces ticket misrouting for clients running Assist standalone.

Zoho Lens: AI Answers Inside the Live Session

Zoho Lens revamped its mobile session toolbar, added iOS self-service portal access, and put its Zia Answer Bot inside live AR sessions for in-session Q&A against department documentation.
Why it matters: Relevant for any field-service or remote-assist client; the Zia Answer Bot cuts down on tab-switching during a live session.
Zoho Sprints: Better Organization for Bigger Boards

Zoho Sprints added Zoho DAP onboarding, custom color coding for status, priority, tags, and release stages, epic search inside Global Search, and a status timeline for risks and opportunities.
Why it matters: Small but real quality of life upgrades for any team running a large Sprints board with a lot of concurrent epics.

One Deadline to Flag
If your team runs Zoho Catalyst QuickML on the older Qwen 2.5-7B Coder, Qwen MoE, or Qwen 2.5-14B Instruct models, Zoho’s migration deadline to GLM 4.7 Flash was the end of July 2026, already past due. Worth a quick check on any client Catalyst instance still pointed at the old models.
