Zoho Cliq Gets Its Biggest Update in Years, Plus FSM-Finance Linking and a Sharper Creator Search

Your weekly briefing on the Zoho updates that actually matter for running your business.

Camarès Zoho Updates · Week of August 17–23, 2026

Your weekly briefing on the Zoho updates that actually matter for running your business. We checked release notes and community feeds across the full Zoho One roster — Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Service, BI, Projects, Developer tools, and Security — and found four updates worth your attention: a major overhaul of Zoho Cliq, a finance handoff upgrade in Zoho FSM, a batch of search and reliability improvements in Zoho Creator, and a new Zoho Assist release. Here’s what changed and why it matters.

Zoho Cliq 7.0: The Biggest Cliq Release in a While

Published Aug 19, 2026

Zoho Cliq’s 7.0 release touches nearly every part of the app. Meetings can now travel with you across other Zoho apps in picture-in-picture mode, so you can keep a call in view while working in email, WorkDrive, or CRM. Screen-sharing sessions gained live annotations for walking a team through exactly what to look at. The message composer got easier formatting (bold, italics, lists) and faster emoji rendering. Out-of-office auto-replies now cover channel and group mentions, not just direct messages, with separate messages for internal versus external contacts. There’s also a new recurring-reminders feature, and a message-reporting flow that routes policy-violation flags to admins via the Approvals bot.

Why it matters: If your team runs on Cliq for internal chat, this is worth a look — the PiP meetings and smarter OOO replies in particular solve real day-to-day friction. Nothing here requires immediate action; features are rolling out now across web, desktop, and mobile.

Zoho FSM: Field Service Now Talks Directly to Finance

Rolled out Aug 19, 2026

Zoho FSM extensions for Zoho Books and Zoho Invoice now let you link an existing Field Service Request, Estimate, or Work Order straight to a Sales Order or Estimate in Books, or a Quote in Invoice.

Why it matters: Field service and finance have historically lived in separate silos, which meant double entry or manual reconciliation any time a service call turned into an invoice. This closes that gap. If your organization runs FSM alongside Books or Invoice, this is a real time-saver for the team handling billing after a job is done — no deadline to act on, but worth turning on and testing with your next work order.

Zoho Creator: Smarter Lookups, Fewer Bugs

Rolled out Aug 16–17, 2026

Lookup-field search results now rank exact matches first, then “starts with” matches, then anything containing your search term — a small change that makes finding the right record noticeably faster in large Creator apps. Alongside it, Zoho shipped a batch of fixes: broken images in HTML-snippet print previews, failed localization deploys, code-signing failures, panel report settings that wouldn’t save, and Deluge scripts that were getting dropped during workflow import/export.

Why it matters: None of this requires action on your part, but if you or a client hit one of these bugs recently, it’s worth knowing it’s already resolved rather than continuing to work around it.

Zoho Assist: Web Forms for Support Requests, Auto-Summarized Sessions

Published August 2026

Zoho Assist’s Version 16.5 adds Web Forms, an embeddable form for your website that lets customers submit a support request or jump straight into an active remote session using a session ID — routed automatically to the right team. It also adds Session Highlight, which analyzes every completed remote session to summarize key actions, categorize the issue, log which applications were used, and let you filter and export those insights by technician, category, or tag.

Why it matters: Web Forms cuts a step out of getting a customer into a support session, and Session Highlight gives a manager an easy way to see support trends across technicians without reviewing session recordings one by one.

Everything else across the roster — CRM, Marketing, Finance, HR, BI, Projects, and Security — was unchanged this week based on what Zoho has published so far.
