3 Zoho Updates Worth Your Time This Week: SalesIQ AI, Sheet Collaboration, and Recruiting Tools

Your weekly briefing on the Zoho updates that actually matter for running your business.

This week’s Zoho release calendar had three items worth your attention: a major AI overhaul to SalesIQ’s chat platform, a batch of new collaboration features in Zoho Sheet, and a new AI integration for recruiting teams. Here’s what changed and why it matters.

Zoho SalesIQ: Chat Agents That Can Run the Whole Conversation

Summer ’26 release · rolled out the week of June 29

SalesIQ’s biggest release in a while moves the product from scripted chatbots to genuinely autonomous AI agents. Highlights:

  • Zia Agents can handle a conversation end-to-end—greeting, troubleshooting, and resolution—without a human picking it up.
  • A new Webpages knowledge source that auto-generates Articles and FAQs from the pages already on a client’s site, so the bot’s knowledge base builds itself.
  • An AI Criteria Router that routes conversations by intent and sentiment, not just keyword rules.
  • Proactive multilingual outreach on web and WhatsApp, in-chat video calls, and live translation powered by DeepL.
  • A codeless workflow builder and new integrations with Freshdesk, Freshservice, Zoho Projects, and Zoho Cliq.

Why it matters: This is a real shift, not a feature bump. Any client running SalesIQ for sales or support chat can now offload a meaningful share of routine conversations to an AI agent instead of a human queue—which means faster first response, more consistent answers, and support staff freed up for the conversations that actually need a person. If a client is still using SalesIQ as a basic chat widget, this release is worth a conversation about what it could be doing instead.

Zoho Sheet: Fewer Reasons to Reach for a Separate Forms Tool

Rolled out July 1

Zoho Sheet picked up a set of features aimed squarely at teams using spreadsheets for data collection and approvals, not just calculations:

  • Drag-and-drop web forms that write directly into the spreadsheet—no separate form tool, no copy-paste.
  • Approval workflows, with assigned reviewers and visible status on where a request stands.
  • “Mark as final,” which locks a sheet read-only once it’s done, so a closed report doesn’t get edited by accident.
  • Multi-select picklists for cleaner data entry.
  • Higher ceilings across the board: 10 million cells, 262,000 rows, and 2,048 columns per sheet.

Why it matters: A lot of clients run informal approval processes through email threads or a patchwork of forms and spreadsheets. This release lets that entire loop—collect, review, approve, lock—live inside Sheet itself. It’s a small thing to roll out and a real reduction in back-and-forth for any team using Sheet as an ad hoc intake or approval tool.

Zoho Recruit: An AI Assistant for the Hiring Pipeline

Recruit MCP · introduced June 30

Zoho Recruit added support for MCP (Model Context Protocol), which lets supported AI assistants securely query and act on candidate records, job openings, interviews, and notes—in plain language, and within the same permissions a user already has.

Why it matters: Instead of building a report to answer “which roles have been open longest” or “where are we stuck in the Engineering pipeline,” a recruiter can now just ask. For clients with lean HR or recruiting teams, this cuts out a layer of manual reporting without requiring anyone to learn a new tool.

The Honest Read on the Rest of the Lineup

Beyond these three, this was mostly a monthly-roundup week rather than a headline week. A few worth a glance when you have a moment: Zoho CRM’s June Community Digest (an AI “agent insights” panel for surfacing stalled deals, plus Related Lists now handling up to 100 records per page with filters and mass actions), Zoho Books’ June roundup (a new Walmart integration for the US Inventory add-on and location-based price lists), Zoho Assist’s June feature update (Windows Quick Support and a new Script Repository), and the May Project Management Bulletin covering Zoho Projects and Sprints (a configurable “Projects Infinity” layout and Sprint Capacity Planning).

That’s the briefing. We’ll be back next week with whatever Zoho ships next—and what it means for the way you actually run your business.
